TOPEKA, Kansas -- The Washburn Athletic Department is proud to announce the 2026 Hall of Fame class which will be enshrined on Oct. 9 in an evening ceremony. Entering the Hall of Fame will be three individuals, including a former head coach and four former Ichabods and Lady Blues. The newest inductees include Torrie (Beauchamp) Battle (softball), Corkey Stiger (women's basketball)Joseph Busby (football), Ryan Deutsch (golf), and Doug Hamilton (former Ichabod golf head coach). Joseph Busby (football, 1994-98)
• started 41 career games and appeared in 44
• appeared in the first three games his freshman year before breaking into the starting lineup in the 4th game. He started every game in his career after, excluding part of the 1997 season when he tore his ACL in his knee and missed the remainder of the season.

Corkey Stiger (women's basketball, 2006-08)
• 2006-07 WBCA All-America Honorable Mention
• 2007-08 WBCA All-America Honorable Mention
• An honorable mention WBCA Coaches All-American in 2006-07 and 2007-08, her only two years at Washburn.
• Named the South Central Region MVP as a senior as she helped lead the Lady Blues to the Elite Eight.
• A second team all-MIAA selection and the MIAA tournament MVP as a junior.
• Her 95 three-point field goals made as a senior are the highest single season total in school history as are her 269 three-point field goal attempts.
• Ranks second in school history with 421 three-point field goal attempts and third with 142 made three-point field goals.
• Career scoring average of 15.9 points per game is the seventh best in school history as are her 1.8 steals per contest.
• Her 3.0 assists per game total are the ninth highest total in Washburn history.

Ryan Deutsch (golf, 2004-08)

• 2007 Golf Coaches Association All-American

• Finished career holding school record for rounds played 125, 4th in scoring average (74.88), career winning percentage (.751), 30 top-20 finishes, 21 top-10 finishes, 9 top-five finishes.
 
Doug Hamilton (former golf head coach, 2002-2012)
• named the Ichabod head golf coach Sept. 12, 2002.
• In his 10 seasons at Washburn, he led the Washburn golf program to five MIAA Championships and seven NCAA National Appearances with five NCAA Central Regional titles.
• During the 2007 NCAA National Championship Tournament, he led the Ichabods to a school-best fifth place finish - the best finish for an MIAA school at the Division II Championships at the time.
• During the summer of 2009, Hamilton coached the United States Junior Golf World Cup team to a second place finish at the Toyota Golf Junior World Cup in Toyota City, Japan.
• In his first year at the helm of the Ichabod golf program, Hamilton led the Ichabods to their first MIAA Championship, their third NCAA Regional appearance and the school's first-ever national tournament appearance.
• He was been named the MIAA Coach of the Year five times and NCAA Central Regional Coach of the Year five times as well following the 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.
• Hamilton has led the Ichabods to 37 tournament wins with 33 individual tournament champions. The Ichabods had 28 golfers receive all-MIAA honors. The Ichabod golf team has also had nine PING All-American selections and 20 all-region picks.
• In the classroom, the Ichabods had 42 MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll members, four all-MIAA Academic Team members, two CoSIDA Academic all-district honorees and two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans as well as five Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar selections. The Ichabods had the highest grade point average of all of the teams competing at the 2003 NCAA national championships.
