Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 4 Washburn women’s soccer team battles to 1-1 draw against No. 9 UMSL

TOPEKA, Kan – The No. 4 ranked Washburn women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against No. 9 ranked UMSL on Saturday afternoon. 

FIRST HALF
The Ichabods struck early, when Mackinly Rohn found Bricelyn Betts for a goal in the fourth minute. The score remained 1-0 for the remainder of the first half, as the Tritons were the only team to have a shot on goal in the final 25 minutes.

SECOND HALF
The score remained 1-0, until the 86th minute when Ashtyn Fry tied the match at 1-1. Leah Henke nearly gave Washburn the lead in the final minute, but UMSL goalkeeper Allysa Wolf was there for the save. 

GAME NOTES
  • Washburn outshot UMSL 18-13, including 10-7 on goal. 
  • Avery McCorry and Betts shared a game-high four shots.
  • Lili Everley, Chloe Kolm, and Rilyn Snyder all played 90 minutes in the match. 
  • Washburn is now 2-3-1 all time against UMSL. 
UP NEXT
Washburn will face Drury on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for another non-conference match at Yager Stadium.
