SEARCY, Ark. – Washburn women's soccer defeated Harding 2-0 in their final non-conference match on Sunday afternoon.
FIRST HALF
Neither team found a way to score in the first half despite Washburn notching eight shots to Harding's five going into intermission. Harding's Skylar Henley nearly gave the Bisons a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute, but
Lili Everley saved the potential go-ahead shot just before halftime.
SECOND HALF
Bricelyn Betts found
Sam Searcey for her first goal of the season to break the scoreless tie in the 57
th minute.
Avery McCorry scored shortly after in the 59
th minute to double the Ichabod lead to 2-0. Harding had multiple opportunities to score in the second half, including a shot from Sami Berry in the 89
th minute, but Everley made her fifth save to seal the match for Washburn.
