Joplin, Mo. – The Washburn women's soccer team defeated Missouri Southern, 5-0, in its MIAA opener on Friday night.
FIRST HALF
Washburn ripped off five first half goals including two from
Avery McCorry and one from
Bricelyn Betts.
Kate Hinck and
Presslee Amick each scored their first goals of the season to expand the Ichabod lead to 5-0 late in the first half.
SECOND HALF
Sophie Spoonmore put Missouri Southern on the board to make the score 5-1 in the 67
th minute.
Kylie Hinrichs joined in on the action, scoring her first goal of the season in the 76
th minute. Neither team scored the rest of the match, as the Ichabods rolled to their first MIAA win of the season.
