LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washburn volleyball moved up one spot in the latest AVCA poll released by the organization on Monday afternoon that sees the Ichabods ranked No. 14 in the nation.  

After going 3-0 last week Washburn improved to 14-3 overall and 3-1 inside the MIAA, rising to No. 14 from a No. 15 ranking last week. They tallied 528 total points in the poll.  

Ferris State continues to hold the top spot with 45 first-place votes followed by Wayne State which got one first-place nod. Tampa sits in third with Fresno Pacific at No. 4, and receiving the final first-place vote, while Concordia-St. Paul rounds out the top-five.  

Around the conference Nebraska Kearney is ranked No. 6, Missouri Western sits at No. 8 and Emporia State is ranked No. 17 in the nation. Both Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri are receiving votes.  

The Ichabods hit the road for the first time in conference play this week as they take on Pittsburg State on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. to begin a two-match road swing.
