Mark Biesma earned his first win of the year as he threw all seven innings in the opener Sunday at Missouri Western. He struck out six without a walk and allowed an unearned run off four hits. The Griffons scored their only run of the game off an error in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1. Biesma then got the next batter to ground into a double play to end the inning and the Griffons got just two base runners the final four innings.
