Jones and Nitz joined Miesner with double-doubles. Jones got hers with 15 kills and 10 digs while Nitz got hers with a career-high 10 blocks and 13 kills. Nitz became just the seventh Lady Blue to reach double figures in blocks since at least 1999.

Washburn scored 100 points as a team with Miesner leading with 25.5 and Nitz adding 18.5 for the night.

Setter Kate Hampson set another career high with 67 assists, breaking the personal record she set Friday against Pittsburg State. She helped lead the offense to a .227 attack percentage while ESU hit .164.

Mandi Cox reached double figures with 14 kills and led the attack with a .458 percentage.

The Lady Blues hit .484 to win easy in the opening game. In game two the Hornets overcame an early 4-1 deficit and were leading late, 27-25. After a timeout the Lady Blues battled back and tied the score at 28-28. ESU then forced game point twice before winning on a WU attack error.

In game two Washburn once again went up early, gave up the lead and failed to come back late. The Lady Blues led, 13-9 when the Hornets went on a 7-1 run to go up 16-14. Washburn tied the score three times after that, the last at 25-25, but ESU closed out the game on a 5-0 run to win and go up two games to one.

Game four was once again played close with seven ties and five lead changes. The two were tied at 17-17 and then Washburn went on a 7-2 run to go up 24-19 and the Lady Blues led from then on to force their fourth five-game match of the year.

Game five went Washburn's way after the two were tied at 2-2. The Lady Blues won four straight points and then ended the game on a 7-0 run with a kill from Jones closing out the match.
