KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues were defeated for the first time in nine matches as they were shutout by Truman 2-0. Washburn's record drops to 11-6-2 overall and 7-5-1 in MIAA play. Washburn will host Emporia State on Nov. 1 on Senior Night in Yager Stadium. It will be the final home match Jenny Persons, Lisa Fahey, Traci Nigg, Kaydi Hooker, Danielle Ayala, Jessica Mainz and Manon Englehardt.

Washburn was outshot 10 to 3 in the first half and 6 to 3 in the second half as the Bulldogs scored goals in each half for the 2-0 win.

Jessica Mainz and Lisa Fahey each had two shots for Washburn. Jenny Persons had four saves in goal for the Lady Blues.

Jessica Wiegert scored both goals for Truman - her eighth and nine goals on the season.

The Lady Blues were shutout for the first time since a 1-0 loss at Central Missouri on Sept. 25.
