Lisa Fahey all contributed to Washburn's two goals as the Lady Blues beat Emporia State 2-1 Saturday at Yager Stadium on Senior Day. Washburn's seven seniors were honored prior to the game as they played their final regular season game at home.
The Lady Blues improved to 12-6-2 overall and 8-5-1 in the MIAA and they will play their next game Thursday at Missouri Souther State.

Jenny Persons started in goal and got the win and seniors
Lisa Fahey,
Traci Nigg and
Manon Englehardt also started.
Emporia State scored first when Persons tried to clear away an ESU chance. The ball was deflected back and Alison Germany was there to shoot it in the empty net at the 10:15 mark.
The Lady Blues tied the game five minutes before halftime when Taylor scored her fifth goal of the year from the left side on a pass from Ayala.
Twelve minutes into the second half Ayala scored her eighth of the year on a pass from Mainz. She received the pass right in front of the goal line and shot it in from the right side.
Mainz led WU with four shots and Taylor had three and tied Ayala with a team-high two on goal.
The Lady Blues out-shot the Hornets 15-4 and put nine on goal. ESU's only shot on target was Germany's goal.
Washburn took eight corner kicks while ESU had just one.
