ST. JOSEPH, MO. -- The Washburn Lady Blues picked up their 11th straight win and wrapped up their Missouri Western Invitational with a 5-0 record topped Mary 9-7 and Minnesota State 3-2. Washburn will be back in action with an MIAA doubleheader against Missouri Southern in Joplin on March 26.

The Lady Blues rallied after diving up four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 9-7 win over Mary. Washburn's big inning came in the top of the fifth inning as they scored four unearned runs.
Malarie Fellers had three hits and
Whitney Tapp and
Candi Madill each had two. Madill added two RBI in the win.
Megan Kimerer picked up the win in relief allowing three runs and striking out three.
Game 2 - Washburn 3, Minnesota State 2
Brooke DeVader's RBI single to center scored pinch runner
Maggie West in the winning run in the bottom of the fifth as Washburn took a 3-2 win. Washburn scored two in the first inning on a two-run homer by Tish WIliams - her ninth of the season.
Kelly Swygert picked up the win improving to 9-6 on the season scattering seven hits and allowing two runs.
