JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues' win streak reached 12 before falling in the night cap to Missouri Southern in an MIAA double header in Joplin. Washburn took the first game 6-5 before dropping the second game 10-4. Washburn will be in action this weekend at the Nebraska-Omaha Classic.
Washburn took the first game 6-5 as Washburn scored at least one run in the final four innings while sending two Lady Blues across the plate in the fifth for the win.

Mandy Tarbutton and
Whitney Tapp each had two hits for the Lady Blues and
Candi Madill and Tapp each drove in a pair of runs for Washburn.
Kelly Swygert picked up her 10th win of the season scattering eight hits allowing three earned runs.
In the second game, Washburn fell behind 4-0 after two innings and 7-0 after four before ralling to score one in the fifth and three more runs in the sixth, but the Lions scored three more in the bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach in a 10-4 loss. Washburn committed five errors in the game leading to five unearned runs for the Lions. Tarbutton drove in two for the Lady Blues.
