ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The ninth-ranked Lady Blues finished up their weekend road trip with a 3-0 sweep of Missouri Western on Saturday night in St. Joseph, Mo. Washburn will be back in action on Wednesday against Nebraska-Omaha at 7 p.m. in Lee Arena.
The Lady Blues (26-3, 9-1 MIAA) cruised to a 25-13 win in set one. WU scored the first three points and 14 of the first 17 on their way to the opening set win.
Sets two and three were much of the same with Washburn winning 25-20 and 25-18 to finish off the sweep.
Senior
Kate Hampson had 38 assists to lead the Lady Blues attack. Freshman
Jessica Kopp had a team-high and career-high 10 kills, while sophomore
Mollie Lacy had nine kills and sophomore
Breanna Lewis added seven. 11 Lady Blue players recorded at least one kill.
Kelli Sicner led Missouri Western with eight kills.
