EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Washburn Lady Blues (11-17) softball team split a pair of five inning games dropping a 10-1 decision to Nebraska-Omaha while taking a 9-1 decision over Augustana. Washburn will wrap up the event with one final game on Sunday against Southwestern Oklahoma at 12:30 p.m.
The Lady Blues lone run against the Mavericks came in the fouth inning on a solo shot by
Ashley Podschun. Overall, Washburn had four hits and stranded four base runners.
Against Augustana, Washburn exploded for three runs in the first and two more in the second and two in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
Tish Williams homered in the second inning and
Britny Cushing had a home run in the fifth.
Kayla Long picked up the win allowing an unearned run.
