KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn rallied from a 3-2 deficit with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings for a 4-3 win over Rockhurst on Tuesday night at Loyola Park.
Andrew Moses scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball in the eighth.
Ryan Faflick (1-0) picked up the win in relief, while
Eldon Little earned his third save of the season when the potential tying run was thrown out at home plate to end the game.
Washburn (15-16) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a single run in the second inning when
Calvin Iversen singled home
Cameron Kasel. Rockhurst (25-11) took the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs.
The Ichabods tied the game in the top of the fifth on a
Wes Joy sacrifice fly, only to have the Hawks regain the lead on an RBI groundout in the bottom of the frame.
Washburn tied the game in the seventh at 3-3. Luis Beltran Lopez singled to lead off the inning, went to second on a sacrifice bunt and advanced to third and scored on wild pitches. The Ichabods scored the go-ahead run in the eighth in similar fashion.
