Ichabod baseball team lands 14 on MIAA Academic Honor Roll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn baseball had 14 players recognized for their academic achievements by the MIAA the conference announced on Thursday afternoon. The Ichabods also had one MIAA Scholar-Athlete.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

Those named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll are: Kai Bennett (Kinesiology), Jace. Cattoor (Accounting), Griffin Huiatt (Business), Owen Laessig (Business), Chase Littrell (Marketing), Caleb Lunnon (Management), Keeegan McDonald (Kinesiology), Jackson Mervosh (Finance), Wyatt Morwood (Accounting), Blake Priest (Political Science), Kyle Snyder (Kinesiology), Garrett Springer (Biology), Kolby Wheeler (Law Enforcement) and Gavin Wilhelm (Finance).

To be recognized as a MIAA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 at the certifying member institution while also earning All-MIAA honors and have at least two terms of grades reported at the member institution.   

Jackson Mervosh earned the honor for a second straight season with the Ichabods.

Around the conference 163 student-athletes earned MIAA Academic Honor Roll honors with 21 Scholar-Athletes and 10 Academic Excellence recipients.

All freshmen and transfer student athlete award winners will be announced in a separate release later in the month.
