KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues soccer team played down one player for the final 69:30 of the match in a 1-0 loss to Truman State. Washburn will be back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Missouri Western.
The Bulldogs had the lone goal of the match following a red card on Washburn's
Jordan Shefte leading to a penalty kick by Olivia Hayes. Prior to the PK, Shefte was sent off and Washburn played the remainder of the match with only 10 players on the pitch.
Washburn was outshot 15 to 5 by the Bulldogs including a 10 to 1 in the second half. The Lady Blues'
Ashley Taylor recorded three of the five team shots with two going on goal.
Tia Stovall and
Lauren Henry recorded the other two shots for the Lady Blues.
Ashley Klone recorded seven saves in net for Washburn.
