* The Lady Blues are scheduled to take on Dana on March 23 in Topeka with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
*  Washburn will then open MIAA play with Missouri Western on March 26 in St. Joseph before traveling to face Truman in another MIAA doubleheader.

Last time out for the Lady Blues
(March 7, 2010) CANYON, Texas -- The Washburn Lady Blues softball team improved to 7-8 in a 6-4 win over West Texas A&M in a single game Sunday afternoon.
Washburn scored three in the top of the first and two more in the top of the third jumping out to a 5-0 lead for starting pitcher Kayla Long (4-5) who picked up the complete game win as all four runs the Lady Buffs scored were unearned.
Lindsey Himpel, Britny Cushing, Ashley Podschun, Tish Williams and Alex Zordel each had two hits for Washburn. Williams drove in two runs in the win.

For the week, the Lady Blues were 2-3. Ashley Podschun batted .500 going 7 of 14 with four runs scored and one home run with 3 RBI. Alex Zordel was 8 of 17 for a .471 batting average with three home runs and 5 RBI. Kayla Long 1-2 in the circle with a 4.54 ERA with a complete game pitching 12 1/3 innings. Kelsie Novotny was 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA.

#17 • Tish Williams: Collected her 216th hit at Washburn neeing two more to move into fourth place all-time on the Lady Blues' chart.

#20 • Kelsie Novotny: Made three appearances starting one game notching a team-best 1.00 ERA in seven innings of action.
