WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabods were topped by the No. 2 ranked Central Missouri Mules in the first two games of a four-game series on Saturday in Warrensburg. The two teams will wrap up the pair of twinbills on Sunday afternoon. The Ichabods fell in the opener 6-0 and lost the nightcap 11-2.
In the opener, the Mules (29-3, 22-2 MIAA) jumped on the board with solo runs in the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead and added four more in the fifth off Ichabod starter
Dustin Holthaus (4-2) who allowed five earned runs scatter five hits. The Mules' Brooks Martin struck out 12 Washburn batters with three walks in the win improving to 7-0 on the season. Vincent Vieyra recorded his fifth double of the season and

Thomas Holiday each had singles for the Ichabods.
The nightcap saw the Mules break open a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with two runs. Washburn (12-13, 11-11 MIAA) tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the sixth.
Thomas Holiday tripled to right center to lead off the inning and scored on a ground out by
Andy Petz.
Dane Simoneau then drew a walk and moved to second on a single by
David Wade. Simoneau was sent home by a since up the middle by Vieyra. However the Mules took the lead for good with a four-run sixth inning while adding one in the seventh and four more in the eighth to take the 11-2 win.
Raul Guevara (3-2) took the loss in six innings of work. Holiday finished 3 for 4 with a runs scored and Wade and Vieyra each had two hits.
