INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Washburn Ichabods basketball team ranked 13th in the nation in attendance and third in the MIAA averaging 2,114 per game during the 2009-10 season.
The Ichabods trailed Central Missouri (3,174) and Fort Hays State (2,901) in average attendance during the season. As a conference, the MIAA had an average of 1,691 fans per game topping NCAA Division II by a margin of 258 fans per game. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference was a distant second at 1,433 fans per game.
Six MIAA schools ranked in the top 30 team attendance leaders. Following the Mules, Tigers and Ichabods were Emporia State at No. 15 with 1,953 per game, Missouri Western at No. 17 at 1,866 per game and Pittsburg State at No. 19 with an average attendance of 1,752.
