OMAHA, Neb. -- The Washburn Lady Blues fell behind early and they were not able to recover in a 4-0 loss at Nebraska-Omaha. The loss dropped Washburn to 0-3-1 and to 0-2-0 in MIAA play and they will hit the road to face Missouri Western on Saturday in St. Joseph.
The host Mavericks 4:33 into the match as Becca Swanson scored the first of her two goals on the afternoon. The teams entered the halftime break trailing 1-0 after they were outshot by the Mavericks 7-1. Swanson scored her second goal in the 51st minute and less than four minutes later the UNO's Megan Kingston scored her first goal of the season putting the Mavericks up 3-0. Monica Bosilevac put UNO up 4-0 in the 65th minute off a penalty kick.
Overall the Mavericks attcked the goal outshooting the Lady Blues 15 to 3 and attempted six cornerkicks to one for Washburn.
Ashley Klone had 11 saves in goal for the Lady Blues.
