OMAHA, Neb. -- The Washburn Lady Blues soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Division I Nebraska-Omaha falling 1-0 in double overtime. Washburn will be back in action in MIAA play at Missouri Western on Oct. 27.
The Mavericks (5-6-2) scored the winning goal in the fourth minute of the second overtime period locking up the 1-0 win. Amber Bilodeau scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Katie Pickinpaugh for the winner.
Washburn (1-12-3) was outshot 30 to 6 in the match including 7 to 1 in the overtime period.
Lauren Henry had two shots on goal for Washburn to lead the Lady Blues.
Tori Fuglister palyed the first 45 minutes in net for the Lady Blues collecting eight saves.
Mallorie Monhollon replaced Fuglister in the second half and picked up six saves.
