TOPEKA, Kan. -- Ichabod senior De'Andre Washington scored Washburn's final six points all from the free throw line in a 71-66 win over the No. 8-ranked Missouri Southern Lions Thursday night in Lee Arena. Washburn (16-7, 13-6 MIAA) will be back in action on Saturday at Pittsburg State.

After the ninth tie score of the game, Jadarren Mumpfield broke the tie with a 3-pointer putting Washburn up 65-62 with 2:43 to play. But the Lions (20-3, 16-3 MIAA) cut the Ichabod lead back to one after a pair of free throws by Marquis Addison with 2:25 remaining in the game. Following a pair of free throws by Washington putting Washburn back up two with 1:53 to go, the Lions again went to the charity stripe and Jason Adams connected on two tosses with 25 seconds left trimming the Ichabod lead back to one. After a foul by the Lions, Washington went back to the line to hit two more with 23 seconds left staking the Ichabods to a 69-66 lead. A 3-point attempt by Adams was off the mark and Washington pulled down the rebound with 12 seconds left hitting both free throws putting Washburn up five at 71-66. Skyler Bowlin's 3-point attemp rimmed out and Washington picked up his game-high 12th and final rebound of the night dribbling out the clock in the win.

In the first half, the teams entered the locker room tied at 35 after the Lions' Adams hit a pair of free throws with 0.8 left on the first half clock.

Washburn dominated on the glass outrebounding the Lions 45 to 26 including a 24 to 4 advantage on the offensive boards. The Ichabods turned the advantage into a 21 to 5 edge in second chance points.
