TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn Ichabod head coach
Bob Chipman has announced that Dejuan Lofton, a 5-11, 185-pound guard from Seattle, Wash., has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Ichabods this fall. He joins Christian Ulsaker, a forward from McPherson, Kan., who was an all-state selection in both basketball and football.
"Dejuan is a great athlete and can really get us going on the defensive end of the court as well," Chipman said. "Offensively he led his conference in 3-point shooting and can play either of the two guard positions. We look forward to seeing him in a Washburn uniform next fall."
At South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Ariz., Lofton helped lead the to a No. 8 national ranking. He averaged 8.2 points, 4.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game as a sophomore while hitting 49 of 102 3-point attempts for a 48 percent average, which topped the conference and was sixth in the national division II junior college ranks.
Lofton played his prep career at Cleveland High School in Seattle, Wash.
