KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's basketball team was honored with two Central Region First-Team selections and the Regional Coach of the Year as announced by the coaching organization on Monday.
Jack Bachelor and
Dillon Claussen were named first-team while
Brett Ballard was named the coach of the year for the second consecutive season. Bachelor was a second-team selection last season. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II.
Bachelor, who was also named the MIAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player after the Ichabods won the title earlier this month, averaged at 15.6 ppg with a team-high 4.6 apg, adding 2.5 rpg. He is 21st in the nation in total assists with 151 and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.10 to 1. Bachelor is ranked ninth on the active D2 assists chart, and he is third on the active NCAA D2 chart in assist-to-turnover ratio and ranked eighth out of all NCAA levels at 2.89. Bachelor is also 10th in 3-pointers made with 95 and 19th in 3-pointers per game with 2.97.
Claussen, averaged 15.6 ppg with 6.1 rpg shooting 63 percent from the field this season. He is eighth in the nation in field goal percentage at 63 percent.
Ballard led the Ichabods to both the MIAA regular season and tournament championships and to a 31-2 record after replacing four starters from the 2024-25 NCAA Final Four squad. The Ichabods finished the MIAA slate with an 18-1 record winning the league title by four games and the Ichabods also spent the entire season inside the top five of the NABC top 25 coaches poll including seven weeks at No. 1 in the rankings.
