JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabods let a 11-point second half lead slip away and survived a potential 3-point game-winning shot by Lincoln at the buzzer to wrap up the regular season with a 69-67 win over the Blue Tigers.
Alex North broke a 62-all tie with 3:20 remaining on a 3-pointer from the corner and then pushed Washburn's lead to five on the Ichabods' next possession in a jumper off the glass en route to a career-high 13 points in his first start of the season.

Last time out for Lincoln  • LU 68, Truman 64
(Jan. 14, 2012) – (LU Media Relations) -- JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Cedric Ridle, Jr. scored 21 points, Jimmy Payton put in 20, and the Lincoln men's basketball team picked up its first home win of the season with a 68-64 victory over Truman State on Saturday (Jan. 14).
Ridle nearly had a double-double, pulling down nine rebounds to go with his game-high point total. He also dished out two assists and steal while Payton tied for the team lead with eight rebounds to go with an assist, a steal and two blocks. Both players were on the court for all 40-minutes of the win.
It was a much different game for the Blue Tigers than their last outing, as Lincoln shot nearly 60% from the floor in the first half (17-for-29). Lincoln entered Saturday's game coming off a poor-shooting performance in a loss to Emporia State in which the Blue Tigers only scored 39 points. They nearly matched that total in the first half against Truman State, entering the intermission up 37-26.
Lincoln opened the game on an 8-2 scoring run, and led by 16 with 2:49 left in the first period (33-17). Ridle finished the half with 13 points while Payton added 11, leading the Blue Tigers to their first halftime lead in a game this year.
The Bulldogs did not go down without a fight, however, as Truman State began chipping away at the lead in the second half. The Blue Tigers scored seven straight point to open the second period, increasing their lead to 18, but by the 10:32 mark the Bulldogs had lessened it to seven (47-40). Lincoln hit back-to-back threes and a layup to spark a mini-6-2 scoring run, but Truman State responded by scoring 15 of the game's next 19 points.
Truman State ultimately came all the way back from that 18-point deficit, knotting the game at 60 with 2:14 to play. While the Bulldogs evened the score, they never took the advantage, as Clifton Fleming ignited one last Blue Tiger scoring run to ensure the victory. Fleming hit a trey on the Blue Tigers' first possession after the tie, and Ridle made four clutch free throws down the stretch to end any Bulldog hope for a comeback.
With five seconds remaining, the Bulldogs hit a trey that cut the Lincoln lead to three, but that was as close as Truman State would get in this one. The Blue Tigers successfully in-bounded the ball and Trent Littlejohn made a free throw on the ensuing foul to wrap the game up at 68-64 in favor of Lincoln.
Fleming finished with 12 total points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist. Littlejohn added seven points and two steals while Terrell Williams pulled down eight boards and dished out five assists. All three players started the game, and all were on the floor for over 30 minutes, helping Lincoln gut out the victory.
Lincoln won the rebounding battle, finishing with 35 boards to 28 for Truman State. The turnover margin was relatively even, with Bulldogs committing nine to Lincoln's 10. LU finished with seven steals while Truman State had six. Lincoln also held slight advantages in field goal percentage (.472 for LU to .446 for TSU) and three-point percentage (.400 for the Blue Tigers, .391 for Truman State).
