Matthews led off the fourth with a single and then later scored after an infield hit from Crimmins. Crimmins hit it deep up the middle and the SBU shortstop fielded it and as he threw late to first base, Matthews safely scored.
The Ichabods were much more explosive in the second game as they earned their first run-rule win this year and first win in the second game of a doubleheader in eight tries, dating back to last year. They got 14 hits off four different Southwest Baptist pitchers.
John Calhoun went 3 for 4 with three RBI and two runs scored. He had a sacrifice fly in the second and then batted twice in the fourth inning, driving in runs each time. His RBI double early in the inning scored Crimmins and then he had an RBI single at the end of the inning that scored Peavler.
