ROCHESTER, Minn. -- The Washburn Lady Blues fell in a pair of games at the NSIC/MIAA Regional Crossover on Saturday. The Lady Blues will return to action on Sunday against St. Cloud State at 8 a.m. and then Sioux Falls at 10 a.m. before returning home.

The Mavericks broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the top of the sixth and added four more in the seventh leading to the 7-0 win. The Lady Blues were held to two hits with Diedra Jones' single in the third inning and
Katie Schroeder's single in the fourth.
Lauren Thimmesch took the loss allowing five earned runs while walking three.
Winona State 14, Washburn 2
The Lady Blues scored two in the first inning after back to back sinlges by
Katie Schroeder and
Amanda Kirkhart were sent home by Shleby Erickson with a double to right. However the Warriors scored two in the first to tie the score and then added 12 in the second leading to the 14-2 win.
