ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabods had their two-game winning streak snapped with a 72-59 loss at Lindenwood. The Ichabods will be back in action on Dec. 31 when they will host Baker at 3 p.m.
Kyle Wiggins led the Ichabods with 14 points and
Algie Key had 13 to lead Washburn (6-8, 2-2 MIAA).
Washburn trailed 29-27 at the break after the Lions shot 11 of 24 from the field compared to the Ichabods shooting 9 of 21 from the field.
Washburn cut the lead to 62-57 with 2:49 after a 3-pointer by
Korey Fisher before the Lions finished the game on a 10-2 run scoring all 10 points from the free throw as Lindenwood did not record a field goal the final 6:41 of the game.
Washburn finished 22 of 51 from the field for a 43 percent average while the Lions were 22 of 39 overall. The Lions also hit 21 of 24 free throws compared to 11 of 15 for the Ichabods.
Washburn was outrebounded 26 to 24 in the game.
