EDMOND, Okla. – The Ichabods scored first but gave up nine runs in the final four innings Friday afternoon in a 12-2 loss at Central Oklahoma.

Washburn fell to 4-3 (4-3 MIAA) and will look to get a split in the four-game series with the Bronchos as they wrap it up Saturday at 1 p.m.

David Gauntt drove in Taylor Herrington with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and then the Bronchos (8-3, 4-3 MIAA) took the lead with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Riley Price, Wes Jones and Taylor Herrington led off the second inning with singles to load the bases and then Payton Soicher drew a walk to tie the game but that ended up being Washburn's last run of the game.

UCO broke the 2-2 tie with a run in the fourth and then scored three each in the fifth, sixth and eighth inning. A three-run homer by Matt Johnson in the eighth invoked the run-rule. Johnson finished 3 for 5 with two home runs and five RBI.
