TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 31-ranked Washburn Ichabods handed the Emporia State Hornets their first loss of the season in a 6-3 victory at the Washburn Tennis Complex on Monday. Washburn will host Rockhurst on Thursday.

Washburn was up 2-1 after doubles as the No. 1 team of Arek Kozaczuk and Bobby Florence won their match 8-4 and Thilo Schlenker and Marko Keulers topped the Hornets at No. 2 doubles 8-6.

Washburn then won four of the six singles flights to win the match as Kozaczuk, Schlenker, Marko Keulers and Chance Joost each won their matches in straight sets.
