ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –The Washburn Ichabods fell in their final game of the Missouri Western Regional softball crossover dropping a 6-2 decision to No. 5 Augustana.

Washburn (14-9) gave up two runs in teh bottom of the first and could not recover in the 6-2 loss. Washburn cut the lead to 2-1 when Katie Schroeder drove in Jordan Erickson. The Ichabods tied the score in the top of the third inning when Skyler Gentry's RBI single scored Haylee Marsteller who singled in the inning. 

However Augustana scored two in the bottomof the fourth and solo runs in the fifth and the sixth for the win.

Marina Quimby had two hits to lead Washburn.

The Ichabods will return to action on Friday at Emporia State in an MIAA doubleheader and then the Ichabods will host the Hornets the following day in Topeka in a non-conference twinbill.
