SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The No. 39 Washburn Ichabods avenged a 7-2 loss earlier this season with a 5-1 win over Lindenwood in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tennis Tournament on Friday morning in Springfield, Mo. Washburn will take on No. 16-ranked Northwest Missouri in the semifinals at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats topped the Ichabods 6-2 on Wednesday.

The Ichabods led 3-0 after sweeping doubles play after the No. 1 team of Arek Kozaczuk and Steven Fletcher picked up an 8-4 win. The No. 2 team of Chance Joost and Bobby Florence won their match 8-5 and the at No. 3 Washburn's Thilo Schlenker and Marko Keulers won 9-7.

At No. 5 singles Joost won 6-3, 6-2 and Fletcher won his match at No. 6 singles 6-2, 7-5 clinching the match for the Ichabods as the rest of the singles matches were stopped after Washburn reached five points.
