The Ichabods (12-4, 4-4 MIAA) play Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Central Oklahoma. Washburn lost Saturday at Pitts State while UCO lost at Fort Hays State and Neb.-Kearney last week. UCO just completed a four-game road trip and is 6-0 at home this year. The Bods are 5-2 on the road.
WU swept the season series with UCO last year to lead 7-2 in the all-time series. The Bods have won all three meetings since the Bronchos joined the MIAA two years ago by an average of just 4.7 points.
WU led at some point with under 5:00 remaining in its first three losses. The loss Saturday at Pittsburg State was the first setback where the Bods didn't lead at some point under the 5:00 mark.
Washburn scored just 40 points at PSU, the team's lowest scoring output since scoring 40 on Nov. 5, 1999 against St. Rose (N.Y.).
The Bods were third in the nation in the last NCAA report with a +13.7 rebounding margin, 16th holding opponents to .354 shooting and 14th holding opponents to 56.4 points a game.
The Bods have kept opponents to under 40% shooting 11 times and under 30% five times.
The Ichabods fell out of the USA Today Sports national poll this week after being 18th last week. WU received votes in the poll. Emporia State is No. 3, Pitt State is fourth and Fort Hays State is 17th.
Taylor Ignoto has reached double figures in 13 of her 15 games. She's first on the team with 14.7 points a game and she shoots 46 percent from the field. She's ninth in the MIAA in scoring.
Casyn Buchman is 10th in the nation and first in the MIAA shooting .906 from the free throw line. She's 24 of 25 in the MIAA games.
Ron McHenry is in his 15th season as coach. He has gone 370-86 since 2000 and has won eight MIAA titles with 12 NCAA tournament appearances. He coached the team to the 2004-05 national championship.

Washburn (12-4, 4-4 MIAA) fell 60-40 Saturday at Pittsburg State while the Bronchos lost twice last week to fall to 13-5 overall and 6-3 in the MIAA. UCO just completed a four-game road trip and is 6-0 at home this year. The Bods are 5-2 on the road.

The Ichabods were kept to a season-low 40 points and .245 shooting from the field Saturday at Pittsburg State. It was the teams lowest scoring output since 1999.

Honor Duvall each scored seven points to lead the team and Smith had eight rebounds. The Bods shot just 19 percent in the second half.
UCO lost 65-62 Saturday at Nebraska Kearney after the Lopers hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining. Olivia Mason hit three 3-pointers to lead the Bronchos with 15 points. She is one of three Bronchos averaging just over 10 points a game with a team-high 10.7.

Ichabods near the top in several national and MIAA defensive categoriesThe Ichabods are near the top in several MIAA and NCAA defensive categories in this week's statistics reports. They are third in the nation and second in the MIAA with a +12.6 rebounding margin and 16th overall and third in the conference holding opponents to .354 shooting from the field. The 56.4 points a game they are allowing is 14th overall and fourth in the MIAA.
Honor Duvall is 15th in the country and second in the conference shooting .581 from the field.
Casyn Buchman leads the MIAA and is 10th in the country shooting .906 from the free throw line.
Strong defense key to Bod victoriesJust five opponents have shot above 40 percent against the Ichabods this year including three of the four teams that beat Washburn this year.
The Bods are 10-1 when keeping their opponents to under 40 percent shooting and their 2-3 when their opponent shoots above 40 percent.
Washburn is holding opponents to .330 shooting in games won and .431 shooting in the four losses. The Bods have kept five of their opponents to under 30 percent shooting. Benedictine shot a season-low .170 against Washburn while Northwest Missouri has the season high of 50 percent shooting in a Washburn win January 10.

Washburn was picked third in the MIAA preseason coaches poll. The Bods earned three first-place votes. Emporia State was picked first and Pittsburg State was second.
Washburn's 93-35 win Nov. 16 against PR-Rio Piedras was the school's second largest against an NCAA school. The 62 rebounds was the largest against an NCAA school.
WU outscored Benedictine 48-4 in the paint on Nov. 18.
Casyn Buchman's free throw in the final seconds Nov. 22 against Drury sent the game to overtime. She scored 10 points in overtime to help WU beat No. 3 Drury, 87-79. She had a career-high 28 points.
Taylor Ignoto averaged 20.5 points and shot 72 percent Nov. 25-29 to earn MIAA player of the week.
Washburn's 40 points scored at Pittsburg State Jan. 17 was the school's lowest output since scoring 40 in 1999-00.
The seven juniors on the 2013-14 team had 81 percent of Washburn's scoring and 79 percent of the individual rebounding. Six of those seven juniors are back this year as seniors. A junior led the team in scoring every game last year and in rebounding in all but two games.
