The eighth-ranked Ichabods (11-2, 3-2 MIAA) host Central Missouri (9-3, 3-1 MIAA) Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Jennies fell out of the most recent national poll but have won three straight.
The rankings are a reversal of last year's matchup. UCM was ranked eighth and Washburn was unranked last year in the meeting in Warrensburg. UCM won that game, 68-57.
The Bods beat Missouri Western 78-71 Saturday after making 11 of 12 free throws down the stretch. Central Missouri won 68-49 Saturday at Nebraska-Kearney.
Washburn is 38-15 overall against the Jennies but UCM won the only matchup, 68-57 last year in Warrensburg. Washburn is 20-5 against UCM at home.
The Bods were third in the nation in the last NCAA report with a +15.3 rebounding margin, fourth holding opponents to .326 shooting and sixth holding opponents to 53.5 points a game.
The Bods have kept opponents to under 40% shooting 10 times and under 30% five times.
The Ichabods jumped from 11th to eighth in the Dec. 16 national poll. Washburn is one of four MIAA teams ranked including No. 1 Emporia State and No. 5 Pittsburg State.
Taylor Ignoto has reached double figures in all 12 of her games. She's first on the team with 16.4 points a game and she shoots 51 percent from the field. She's 8th in the MIAA in scoring.
Casyn Buchman was 10th in the nation and first in the MIAA shooting .905 from the free throw line. She's 14 of 14 in the MIAA games.
Ron McHenry is in his 15th season as coach. He has gone 369-83 since 2000 and has won eight MIAA titles with 12 NCAA tournament appearances. He coached the team to the 2004-05 national championship.
Home stand wraps up tonight against Central MissouriThe eight-ranked Ichabods will play their final home game until January 29 when they host Central Missouri tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Schendel Court in Lee Arena.

Central Missouri is 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the league after a 68-49 win Saturday at Nebraska-Kearney. The Jennies have won three straight since falling out of the national poll.
The Ichabods have one of the toughest defenses in the MIAA and country. They have kept opponents to under 50 points seven times and their win against St. Mary marked the fifth time they have kept opponents to under 30 percent shooting. They are sixth in the nation in scoring defense and fourth in field goal percent defense.

Ichabods near the top in several national and MIAA defensive categoriesThe Ichabods are near the top in several MIAA and NCAA defensive categories. They are third in the nation and second in the MIAA with a +14.5 rebounding margin and fourth overall and second in the conference holding opponents to just .335 shooting from the field. The 54.8 points a game they are allowing is sixth overall and second in the MIAA.
Honor Duvall is 14th in the country and third in the conference shooting .593 from the field.

Strong defense key to Bod victoriesJust three opponents have shot above 40 percent against the Ichabods this year and one of them was Missouri Western in Washburn's win Saturday.
The Bods are 10-0 when keeping their opponents to under 40 percent shooting and their 1-2 when their opponent shoots above 40 percent.
Washburn is holding opponents to .316 shooting in games won and .448 shooting in the two losses. The Bods have kept five of their opponents to under 30 percent shooting. Benedictine shot a season-low .170 against Washburn while Missouri Southern has the season high against Washburn at .465 in the Lions December 6 win.

Washburn was picked third in the MIAA preseason coaches poll. The Bods earned three first-place votes. Emporia State was picked first and Pittsburg State was second.
Washburn's 93-35 win Nov. 16 against PR-Rio Piedras was the school's second largest against an NCAA school. The 62 rebounds was the largest against an NCAA school.
WU outscored Benedictine 48-4 in the paint on Nov. 18.
The Ichabods trailed nearly the entire second half Nov. 22 against Drury but
Casyn Buchman's free throw in the final seconds sent the game to overtime. She then scored 10 points in the overtime to help WU knock off then-No. 3 Drury, 87-79. She had a career-high 28 points.
Washburn was unranked in the USA Today Sports preseason poll but earned a No. 18 ranking in the first regular season poll of the year.
Taylor Ignoto averaged 20.5 points and shot 72 percent Nov. 25-29 to earn MIAA player of the week.
The seven juniors on the 2013-14 team had 81 percent of Washburn's scoring and 79 percent of the individual rebounding. Six of those seven juniors are back this year as seniors. A junior led the team in scoring every game last year and in rebounding in all but two games.
Up next for WashburnThe Ichabods will start a four-game road trip Saturday at Northwest Missouri at 1:30 p.m. The Bods have won six straight in the series with the last loss coming in 2010-11.
