Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – Washburn and Northeastern State each shot at least 57 percent in the first half but the Ichabods kept up the intensity in the second half to run away with an 83-58 win Saturday evening at Schendel Court in Lee Arena.

The win clinched a spot in the MIAA tournament for the Ichabods as they improved to 16-8 overall and 8-8 in the MIAA. They'll play their final road game of the regular season Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at league-leading and third-ranked Fort Hays State.

Northeastern State (10-12, 6-9 MIAA) shot 58 percent in the first half but the Bods led 41-34 at the break after they shot 57 percent. The Ichabods shot 54 percent in the second half and quickly pushed their lead to double figures. Northeastern State shot just 28 percent in the half and made 1 of 10 3-pointers.

Washburn finished 11 of 26 (42 percent) from 3-point range with three different players hitting a trifecta of 3s.
Erika Lane,
Taylor Ignoto and
Janelle Travis each had three and scored in double figures. Ignoto had 17 points and Travis scored 11 points off the bench.
Honor Duvall was 6 of 10 from the field with seven rebounds and 13 points.

Washburn trailed three different times in the opening six minutes but regained control with an 11-0 run to go up 22-13. The Bods led by 13 at one point but the RiverHawks ended the half on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to seven points.

The Bods used an 11-0 run to go up but 17 early in the second half and they pushed the lead to 21 from a layup from Ally Nikkel with 11:09 remaining. NSU cut Washburn's lead no closer than 14 down the stretch and
Haley Pfau's five points off the bench in the final 1:25 pushed Washburn's lead to a game-high 25 points.

Jayna Smith added seven rebounds to tie Duvall for team-high honors. Lane and
Casyn Buchman led the team with four assists each.

Bria Pierce led NSU with 12 points and she tied for the team lead with four rebounds. Washburn won the rebound battle 35-22 and both teams had 12 turnovers.
