EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod men's tennis team lost 5-4 in the Turnpike Tussle version on Tuesday in Emporia. Washburn will wrap up the regular season on Friday when they host Lindenwood at the Washburn Tennis Complex.

The Ichabods trailed 2-1 after doubles as the No. 1 team of Blake Hunter and Matt Barlow defeated Keenan Smith and Sebastian Heimburger 8-6, In doubles, the Ichabods won the top three flights, but lost the final three in the 5-4 loss. Martin Wieand beat Smith 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Hunter won his match at No. 2 over Heimburger 6-0, 6-0. At Barlow beat Gerard Pont 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
