The Tigers kept their foot on the gas pedal in the third quarter, while holding the Gorillas scoreless for the first 13 minutes of the first half. An 8-yard touchdown pass to Iheme and a 24-yard touchdown strike to Shaquille Cooper pushed the Tiger lead to 38-20 and gave Mezera a share of the single-game passing touchdown record at FHSU.
A Gorilla touchdown at the 2:01 mark of the third quarter sliced the lead back to 11, but Mezera ran for a 9-yard touchdown just five seconds into the fourth quarter to push the lead back to 18 at 45-27.
