Ichabods Look To Remain Spotless At Home With Pair of Weekend Matches

 Headlines

•Washburn wraps up its four-match homestand with a pair of weekend matches against Lindenwood Oc.t 14 and #5 Central Missouri Oct. 16.

• Washburn is 5-0 at home this season with its last loss at Yager Stadium November 1, 2015 against Fort Hays State.

Last time out

• Washburn closed out a perfect weekend with a pair of wins over Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist.

• The Ichabods downed Missouri Southern 2-1 off a goal inside the 87th minutefrom Mackenzie Heiman after a game-tying goal from Ellie Karloff.

• A pair of goals from Morgan El-Attrache including a golden goal in overtime lifted the Ichabods over MIAA foe Southwest Baptist.

'Bod's and Ends

Morgan El-Attrache is the Ichabods'  leading scorer thus far into the season with nine points off of three goals and three assist.

Morgan El-Attrache also leads Washburn in the assist category with three.  

•  Kaitlin Minnich is the Ichabods primary goalkeeper with a GAA of 0.795 and 31 saves. Minnich has allowed only eight goals this season on 92 shots faced.

Second Half Surge

 • The Ichabods have scored a total of 16 goals this season nine of which came during the second period.

Don't Call It a Comeback

• The last two wins by the Ichabods have been come from behind wins after a late goal.

Mackenzie Heiman scored her first goal of the season and first match-winning goal of her career in the 87th minute of the Ichabods 2-1 win over Missouri Southern.

Morgan El-Attrache snagged the second and third goals of her career in Washburn's 2-1 win over Southwest Baptist. El-Attrache scored the match-winning goal at 90:33 in overtime, earning the first golden-goal of her career.

• The last time the Ichabods staged a comeback was in 2013 against Fort Hays State when Washburn came from behind to win 2-1.

Spreading the Wealth

• 11 different Ichabods have scored goals this season and 19 have taken shots over the course of the season.

• The Ichabods scored 14 points in its home opener over Northwestern Oklahoma State for the third time in program history. Eight different players scored points during the match.

Home Field Advantage

• For the first time since 2009 the Ichabods are 5-0 at home heading into its sixth home contest of the season

• Washburn is outscoring its opponents 11-2 in Yager Stadium this far into the season and outshooting them 60-32

Record Watch

• If the season were to end today Ellie Karloff would be tied forth all-time for assist per game with 0.25.

• If the season were to end today Kaitlin Minnich would be sixth all-time in goals against average with an average of 0.87.

Scouting Report : Lindenwood

• Lindenwood enters its 12th season under head coach Laurie Kaminski.

• The Lions entered this season tabbed 5th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing last season with a 6-6-2 overall record.

• LU is currently 5-5-1 heading into the match after dropping a pair of matches last week to Northeastern State (1-2) and Central Oklahoma (1-4).

• MSSU is lead in scoring by Kat Roe with 12 points off of five goals and three assist. Mary McGilvray is the Lady Lions primary GK with a GAA of 1.49 and 38 saves.

Scouting Report: No. 5 Central Missouri

•  Central Missouri enters its tenth season under Lewis Theobald.

• UCM was tabbed first in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll after posting a 21-2-1 record last season.

• The Jennies are 10-1-0 going into this weekends match and dropped from No.2 to No. 5 in the NSCAA rankigns after splitting a pair of matches in Oklahoma. UCM lost its first match of the season to UCO in a 1-2 decision.

• Central Missouri is lead in scoring by Hannah Pyle with seven points off of three goals and one assist. Ana Dilkes is the primary goalkeeper for the Bearcats posting a GAA of 0.40 and 21 saves.

About head coach Chris Jones

Chris Jones is 12-13-6  in his second season at Washburn and is only the second coach in the program's history since 2003.

• Prior to taking the head coaching role at Washburn, Jones  was an assistant coach at Fort Hays State where the Tigers went 20-13-5 coaching 11 All-MIAA picks.

• Prior to joining the Tigers, he was president and coach of the University of Oklahoma's men's club team.

• Washburn is 102-127-38 (.453) all-time entering its 14th season of action. 

• In MIAA play, the Ichabods are 65-82-23 (.450). 

• In home matches, the Ichabods are 54-51-17(.512).

• On the road, the Ichabods are 42-69-17 (.395).

• In matches on neutral sites, the Ichabods are 7-9-4 (.450).
