Ichabods back at home for four games starting Friday . . .
• The Washburn Ichabod softball is back in Topeka for four games after an 11-game road trip as they will take on Central Missouri on Friday and Southwest Baptist the following day at the Washburn Softball Complex.
• The Ichabods are coming off a doubleheader sweep by Pittsburg State last time out after taking one of two games from Missouri Southern the day before.
• Overall the Ichabods have won six of their last 10 games.
• Central Missouri is 20-14 overall and 9-3 in MIAA play and Southwest Baptist enters the weekend 13-23 and 5-7 in MIAA play and will take on Emporia State before facing the Ichabods on Saturday.

• Senior second baseman
Taylor Zimmerman leads the Ichabods with a .348 batting average and has 31 hits this season which is third on the team and a team-high seven home runs … her 20 RBI is second on the team and her .640 slugging percentage is second on the squad … she was named the NFCA National Player of the Week following the weekend games with Lindenwood and Lincoln.
• Sophomore infielder
Cassidy Merriman is second on the team with a .347 batting average and her 35 hits leads the Ichabods … she also leads the team with 22 runs scored, 25 RBI and 35 hits … her .644 slugging percentage and her .400 on base percentage is second on the team … this season she has nine multi-RBI games and had her streak of reaching base snapped at 26 games at Pittsburg State.

Ashley Ruder is batting .333 this season and has 21 hits with two doubles and 6 RBI.
• Senior infielder
Marina Quimby is fourth on the team with a .314 batting average and her 32 hits is second and her 16 runs scored is third on the team … she needs two runs scored to reach 100 for her career starting 154 of 159 career games.
• Senior outfielder
Haylee Marsteller is fifth on the team with a .310 batting average and she has 26 hits with 15 runs scored and three home runs.
• Freshman infielder
Erin Keeney is batting .298 with 28 hits which is fourth on the team … her 14 runs scored is tied for fifth and her 14 RBI is fifth on the team … Keeney leads the team with 11 multi-hit games.
• Junior pitcher
Samantha Carson leads the team with a 2.51 earned run average in 103 1/3 innings pitched going 7-7 in the circle … in relief she has pitched 14 1/3 innings with a 2.44 earned run average striking out eight allowing five earned runs recording a 3-0 record and a save.

Haylee Marsteller drove in her 50th run of her career at the regional crossover … … her 63 walks are fifth on the Ichabod career chart.

• The Jennies reached the NCAA Division II College World Series last season.
• The Jennies lead the all-time series with the Ichabods 47-39 and the two schools have split the last two doubleheaders played.
Southwest Baptist• The Bearcats are 13-23 this season and 5-7 in MIAA entering the weekend.

• Rachel Ray leads the team with a .365 batting average … Dana Graves leads the team with 25 RBI and 35 hits batting .337.

PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod softball team was swept in an MIAA doubleheader falling 13-0 in five innings and 12-3 in six innings on Saturday.
Game 1 - Pittsburg State 13, Washburn 0
The Ichabods allowed nine unearned runs courtesy of four errors in a 13-0 loss in the opener.
Washburn's lone hit came in the third inning when
Ashley Ruder doubled to left center.
Gorillas pitcher Emmie Robertson struck out 10 improving to 15-4 on the season.
Samantha Carson pitched the first inning allowing three earned runs and
Ashley Wills tossed the final three innings giving up one earned run of the nine Pitt State scored.
Game 2 - Pittsburg State 12, Washburn 3
The Gorillas broke open a scoreless game in the bottom of the third with four runs before adding five in the fifth and three more in the sixth leading to the 12-3 win.
Washburn scored all three in the fourth inning on a 2-RBI single by
Marina Quimby.
Ashley Ruder also drove in a run in the inning.
Haylee Marsteller and
Taylor Zimmerman each had two hits as the Ichabods (14-16, 4-8 MIAA) finished with eight overall.
Quimby took the loss in the circle for the Ichabods.
