ST. CHARLES, Mo. --- Washburn baseball fell Thursday, 8-0, in its series opener against Lindenwood at the Lou Brock Sports Complex. The Ichabods (19-18, 11-15 MIAA) were out hit by the Lions, 11-3.

Riley Krane went 2-for-4 on the day as he singled in the first and again in the sixth.
Daniel Reilly registered the third Ichabod hit with a pinch-hit single in the ninth.
Tanner Triggs and
Kasey Clark each drew walks while
Bowe Behymer reached on a hit by pitch.

Lindenwood claimed an early as it pushed a pair of runners across during the first for a 2-0 lead. The Lions then extended their advantage in the second with a four-run second before tacking on two more in the seventh.

The loss was credited to
Nick Silva who surrendered six runs on six hits in two innings.
Matthew Hicks was the bright spot for the Ichabods as the reliever worked five innings conceded two runs while scattering five hits.

Washburn returns to action tomorrow evening as game two of the series is slated for 6 p.m.
