Lindenwood Notes
•In the win over Northeastern State, Lindenwood set a school record by rushing for 417 yards. Shakeem Wharton led the team with 103 yards, followed by Calen Campbell with 86, Najee Jackson with 82, and Nash Sutherlin with 70.
•The Lions finished with 686 yards of total offense, the fourth-highest in program history.
•Lindenwood did not allow a point in the first half for the first time since the Oct. 15, 2016 game versus Emporia State. The RiverHawks had just 142 yards at the break, including 27 on the ground.
•Lindenwood held Northeastern State to just four-of-14 on third-down plays for the contest.
•Jackson finished the game with 208 passing yards and three touchdowns, and he completed 71 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 82 yards.
•Warren led the receivers with five catches for 94 yards and one score.
•Darrius Williams led the defense with 13 tackles, his second straight double-figure tackle game. Drew Seers, a true freshman, earned his first start and had 10 tackles.
•CJ Bivens had team-highs of 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod football team held the No. 1-ranked Northwest Missouri to five points in the first half and 20 in the game but came up short in a 20-14 loss on Thursday night in Yager Stadium.
The top-ranked Bearcats scored first in the game on a safety after the Ichabod defense held Northwest out of the endzone on plays from the Ichabod 6, 5, 3, 2 and 2 turning the back to Washburn on downs, but from the Ichabods' first play from scrimmage,
Mickeel Stewart was pulled down in the backfield for a loss of one putting Northwest up 2-0 with 5:58 to play in the first quarter.
After the teams traded punts on their next seven possessions, Northwest connected on a 29-yard field goal by Brett Garner with 5:36 to play in the half going up 5-0 as neither team scored the rest of the half.
Washburn was outgained 132 to 43 in the first half going 0 for 5 on third down conversions while Northwest was 5 of 11 and held the ball nearly eight minutes more.
Taking the second half kickoff, the Bearcats drove 78 plays in nine plays when Zach Martin connected with Shawn Bane for a 14-yard touchdown pass as Northwest took a 12-0 lead with 10:38 left in the third quarter.

Northwest went up 20-7 when Cameron Knox scored on a 1-yard plunge with 12:06 to play in the game as the Bearcats completed the 2-point conversion.
After a punt by the Ichabods and then another punt by the Bearcats,
Blake Peterson hit
Jace Williams for his second touchdown reception of the game on a 13-yard pass pulling Washburn within six at 20-14.
The Bearcats took over at their 21 with 4:27 to play in the game and the Ichabod defense held the Bearcats on a three-and-out forcing a punt at the WU 45 yard line, but a roughing the kicker penalty on the Ichabods gave a first down to the Bearcats keeping the drive alive. Washburn was flagged for for 12 penalties for 68 yards and Northwest had two penalties for 10 yards.
The Ichabod defense forced a turnover on downs with 18 seconds to play returning the ball to the Ichabods at their own 14.
However the Ichabods had four incomplete passes to end the game coming up short in their upset bid.

Derrick McGreevy had 11.
Corey Ballentine had a fumble recovery and eight tackles.
Stewart led the Ichabods with 61 yards on eight carries as Washburn finished with 136 yards on the ground overall. Peterson was 5 of 12 for 48 yards and one score while rushing for 24 on five carries.
Jace Williams had four catches for 42 yards and both of Washburn's touchdowns.
Last Ichabod meeting with Lindenwood …
Sept. 17, 2016 -- TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod football team jumped out to a big lead and then held off a furious comeback attempt from Lindenwood intercepting a pass in the end zone on the final play of the game in a 34-29 win over the Lions.
After taking a 34-13 lead into the halftime locker room, the Ichabods allowed 16 unanswered point as the Lions' last-second heave with one second left on the clock from the Ichabod 48 was picked off in the end zone by
Jace Williams sealing the win for the Ichabods.
The Ichabods racked up 304 yards in the first half, but were limited to 100 yards in the second half.
The Lions (1-2, 1-2 MIAA) took the opening kickoff and marched 78 yards in 11 plays going up 7-0 on their first drive of the game. Washburn tied the score with 6:07 to play in the first quarter when
Derek McGinnis hit
Jake Horner on a 62-yard touchdown pass.
The second quarter, the Ichabods defense set the offense up with the first of two scores within a span of 1:27 when
Cedric Gonzalez recovered a fumble after a
Kastin Spencer sack. One play later McGinnis connected with
Jace Williams on an 18-yard touchdown pass with 14:16 to go.
After the defense forced a three-and-out, McGinnis hit
Bryce Chavis on a 51-yard touchdown pass with 12:17 to play in the half putting Washburn up 28-7.
After a
Cody Heiman's interception at the Ichabod 45 with 8:41 left in the first half, Chavis scored his second touchdown of the night on an end around run from 25 yards out putting Washburn up 34-7 entering the break.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Lions scored on their first three possessions of the fourth quarter to cut the Ichabod lead to five at 34-29 as the Ichabods were outgained in the second half 253 to 100.
Heiman had a career-high 14 tackles leading the Ichabods with nine solo stops adding a 1/2 sack and an interception.
Austin Tillman had 11 tackles adding two for loss and a sack.
Mickeel Stewart rushed for 47 yards on 14 carries and
Chris McGee, Jr., recorded 41 yards on 12 carries and a score.
McGinnis finished 14 of 24 passing for 247 yards and three scores while passing to eight different receivers led by Horner with 101 yards on four catches and a score and Chavis had four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown reception.
Lindenwood finished with 28 first downs to the Ichabods 16 and outgained the Ichabods 423 to 404.
Washburn had 157 yards on the ground and the Lions finished with 162. Through the air, Washburn had 247 to while the Lions had 261.
Jace Williams became the first Ichabod since Carey Williams on Oct. 6, 2007 to record a receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game when Carey did it against Missouri Southern.
