KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- For the second time this season, Washburn senior
Parker Dunn has been named the MIAA Baseball Hitter of the Week after an impressive offensive effort in five Ichabod wins last week.
Dunn finished last week with a scorching .458 batting average, 11 hits, 10 RBI, and eight runs scored while slugging .875. In the series opener at Newman, Dunn cranked out three home runs to become just the second Ichabod since 1999 to hit three home runs in a single game. In the following game, he led WU with four hits and drove in two runs and scored twice.
Dunn currently leads the Ichabods in home runs (seven), hits (26), RBI (26), and is second on the team in runs scored (19) and doubles (six).
The Ichabods are on an eight-game winning streak and hold an overall record of 15-4 with a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. Washburn will take on Northeastern State (13-6, 3-3 MIAA) on the road this weekend, March 11-13.
