Michael Pearl sits in fifth and
Pau Borillo-Febrer is in seventh after the first five events of the decathlon and
Taylor Grasser is 15th after the first four events in the heptathlon. The final day of the multis will wrap on Saturday.
Grasser has 2087 points after the first four events and set personal bests in the 100 hurdles in a time of 17.35. She then cleared 1.40m in the high jump and had a shot put mark of 8.70m, another personal best. She wrapped up the day with a time of 28.76 in the 200m.
Pearl has 3329 points after the first half of the decathlon. He finished third in both the 100m in a time of 11.57 and the long jump with a mark of 6.71m. Pearl won the high jump clearing 1.91m tying a career-best. He finished ninth in the shot put at 10.29m and then was 11
th in the 400m in a time of 54.49.
Borillo-Febrer has 3189 points entering day two and had his best finish of the day in the high jump with a third-place finish with a mark of 1.85m. He was fourth in the long jump at 6.54m for a personal best and seventh in the long jump (6.24m) and eighth in the shot put (10.86m) and ninth in the 100m (12.02).
