Washburn track and field places 60 on MIAA Academic Honor Roll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn Ichabod track and field had 60 total student-athletes earn MIAA Academic Honors announced by the conference on Wednesday. The Ichabods also earned two MIAA Scholar-Athletes and six MIAA Academic Excellence honorees.

The 27 Ichabod women named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll were: Reagan Housley (Nursing); Kenzie Ross (Kinesiology); Cheyenne Hittle (Accounting); Riley Britton (Political Science); Isabella Garcia (Kinesiology); Adriel Holloway (Music Performance); Lexie Fontaine (Health Services Administration); Ayva Darmento (Mass Media); Jolie Evans (Kinesiology); Ashley Heavner (Mass Media); Blair Brennan (Forensic Investigation); Addi Webster (Health Services Administration); Maya Pattison (Marketing); Ashtyn Collins (Law Enforcement); Kereser Augustin (Kinesiology); Kynleigh Chard (Forensic Investigation); Natalie Hillebert (Medical Imaging); Riley Ammons (Biology); Naiuri Krein (Psychology); Misti Schlabach (Biochemistry); Kamdyn Wedel (Kinesiology); Marrah Spriggs (Legal Studies); McKenzie Hayse (Exploratory); Alex Hart (Nursing); Kennedi Knowles (Nursing); Roni Simeon (Kinesiology); Jadyn Falley (Biology).

Lexie Fontaine and Jake Muller earned MIAA Scholar Athlete accolades after earning all-MIAA honors at the MIAA Outdoor Championships and recording at least a 3.5 or greater grade point average.

To earn the Academic Excellence Award a student-athlete must maintain a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Reagan Housley and Kenzie Ross from the women's team and Judah Bowell, Gustavo Cadan, Sebastiaan Horselenberg and Logan Montgomery were all recognized.

Around the conference, 243 women's track and field athletes earned Academic Honor Roll honors, with 31 being named Scholar-Athletes and 34 Academic Excellence recipients.

On the men's side, 242 track and field athletes earned Academic Honor Roll honors, with 21 being named Scholar-Athletes and 20Academic Excellence recipients.

All freshmen and transfer student athlete award winners will be announced in a separate release later in the month.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
