MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod women's cross country team placed second in the season-opening event at the Bearcat Open hosted by Northwest Missouri Friday night. The Ichabods will be back in action on September 17 at the Missouri Southern Stampede.
Freshman
Lexie Fontaine paced the Ichabods with a seventh-place finish in a time of 19:43.91 on the 5K course. Fellow freshman
Marisa Jacober was 10
th overall with a time of 20:15:56 and she was followed by
Eve Weber who was 11
th and
Kelsie Dent was 12
th in times of 20:21.88 and 20:25.14 respectively.
Avery Hoffpauir was 15
th with a time of 20:54.14 and
Stacy Briggs finished 16
th in a time of 21:04.02.
Tea Bloomfield was 24
th overall in a time of 24:28.01.
Northwest Missouri won the event with 15 team points with Washburn second with 49 points. Missouri Western had 80 team points and Peru State finished with 110 points.
