COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod women's cross country team finished eighth at the MIAA Championships on Friday at Gans Creek Cross Country Course. Washburn will be back in action in two weeks at the NCAA Central Regional in Joplin, Mo.
Lexie Fontaine led the Ichabods finishing 22
nd overall in a time of 22:36.19. From her 3K split to the 6K finish Fontaine climbed 12 spots up from 34
th.
Eve Weber finished 36
th in a time of 23:12.6 and she was followed by
Jolie Evans in 43
rd in a time of 23:40.9.
Stacy Briggs finished 59
th overall in a time of 24:16.2 while
Katy Menke was 68
th in a time of 24:42.97.
Finishing 76
th was
Suzanne Farnham in a time of 25:18.73 and
Avery Winter was 91
st with a time of 26:54.30.
Cheyenne Hittle finished 98
th with a time of 28:00.03.
Pittsburg State won the title with 51 total team points. Missouri Southern was second with 65 followed by Nebraska-Kearney (101), Fort Hays State (109), Rogers State (125), Northwest Missouri Missouri (151), Missouri Western (173), Washburn (242), Newman (249), Central Missouri (262), Emporia State (302), Lincoln (346) and Central Oklahoma (367).
