TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn Ichabod soccer plays its first matches of 2023 at Yager Stadium hosting Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Sep. 8 at 6 p.m. and Wayne State College on Sunday, Sep. 10 with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
KICKOFF
- Washburn Ichabod soccer opens up its 2023 home slate of matches with two non-conference matchups against Southwest Minnesota State and Wayne State College.
- Washburn will take on the Mustangs at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 8 and the Wildcats at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 10.
BOD BREAKDOWN
- Washburn is 1-1-0 so far in the 2023 season.
- The Ichabods went 11-6-2 in 2022 and finished sixth in the MIAA.

A LOOK AT LAST WEEK

- Drury was only able to manage two shots on goal against the Ichabods, and the Tritons were only on target for four attempts

- Viviana Soto-Herrera scored the other goal of the weekend for Washburn. She has four total shots on the year, third most on the team, in 154 minutes. She has scored a goal in the season opener two years in a row.
- Lakin Rold and Jordan Tenpas have both played all 180 minutes of action on defense for Washburn, helping secure one shutout.
- Rold secured her first career assist and point on Sunday against the Tritons
- Raegan Wells also logged all 180 possible minutes over the weekend, helping secure one shutout. It's the third straight season that Wells has been in goal for a season-opening shutout effort.
- Lindsey Maul and Grace Peterson started both games as true freshmen, with maul playing 162 minutes over the weekend, fifth most on the team.
- Fellow freshman Mackinly Rohn joined them in the starting lineup for the season opener, she logged 103 minutes in her first collegiate games.
- Riley Wells netted her first assist of the season against Missouri - St. Louis, and has taken one shot in 129 minutes.
- Belle Kennedy is tied with Schuckman with seven shots per game to lead the Ichabods. Kennedy's five shots on goal are tops on the Ichabods.
- Aubrey Tanksley has taken two shots with both going on goal in her first two matches at Washburn. She recorded her first start against the Tritons.
- Twenty players have made appearences so far for Washburn, with 18 playing in both contests.
- The freshman class combined to play 420 minutes in the opening weekend for the Ichabods.
