PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabods men's track and field team wrapped up the 2024 Wendy/Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday bringing back two school records, four NCAA provisional marks and eight personal bests. The Ichabods will return to the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility hosting the two-day Washburn Open starting Friday, Feb. 2 on the Washburn campus.
 
For the second week in a row, Braden Rose broke the Washburn record with a mark in the weight throw of 21.66m (71-01.00) for an NCAA provisional mark as well. At the Washburn Rust Buster last weekend, he had a throw of 21.18m (69-06.00).
 
Washburn's second school record of the day came in the high jump when Jordan Dale finished second with an NCAA provisional mark of 2.12m (6-11.50) topping the previous school record by a half inch. Matthew Heckman finished fourth in the high jump with an NCAA provisional mark of his own with and a personal best of 2.09m (6-10.25).
 
Connor Last finished sixth in the long jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 7.24m (23-09.00)
