JOPLIN, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod women's cross country team finished 16th at the NCAA Division II Central Regional putting a bow on the 2024 season. The Ichabods were led by
Lexie Fontaine who finished 47th overall. The 16th-place finish was the third-best in the women's program history behind a pair of 12th-place showings in 2018 and 2021.
Fontaine finished the 6K route in a time of 22:15.1.
Eve Weber was 66th in a time of 22:35.9 and she was followed by
Jolie Evans in 83rd in a time of 22:54.2.
Sofia Wendell placed in 112th overall in a time of 23:23.4 and
Suzanne Farnham was 146th with a time of 24:05.4.
Riley Ammons finished 165th in a time of 24:42.3.
Augustana won the regional, followed by Pittsburg State, Mary, Winona State and Rogers State.
