HAYS, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team opened the outdoor slate on a cool and windy day bringing back a school record with the No. 1 throw in the country so far this season adding 30 personal bests. Washburn will be back in action next weekend at two locations including the SBU Invitational and the Washington U Distance Carnival.
 
Braden Rose, fresh off his second-place finish in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor National Championship, recorded the best throw in the nation in the discus with a school record mark of 56.49m (185-04). His marked topped the previous school record by more than 12 feet and was an NCAA provisional mark as well.
 
Jacob Herr finished second in the 400m in a personal best time of 49.84 and Tommy Roehl was second in the 5000m with a personal best time of 15:15.99.
